Fairbury Invite Bracket - 9/7/24
Hello Band families,
Monday, September 9 will be our Dietz Music Night for beginning band students. It will take place in the band room at 6:15pm-8:30pm for anyone needing a new rental instrument for band along with the required Standard of Excellence practice books for both 5th (red cover) and 6th (blue cover) beginning bands. They can also supply reeds, oils, lyers for marching, and other band items needed for grades 5-12. If your student needs any of these items especially a rental instrument please go online at the link below and get one set up so all you have to do is come and grab the instrument that your child needs. This allows the music store to have sufficient supply on Monday night to help everyone that needs an instrument. Note: that while the school may have a few instrument options to play, renting from a reputable music store like Dietz is the preferred option because of their guarantee of quality instruments and supplies. They also have a great repair plan that goes along with your rental that helps to ensure that your child's instrument can be fixed if needed for no extra charge while renting. If you already have an instrument but need other items please click the link below and preorder those as well. All 5th and 6th graders will need the new books for next week's band classes. The cost is low through Dietz at around $13 per book and $25 for a box of reeds that should last your child for most of the year if they take care of their equipment. Beginning band students should use a 2.5 blue Rico Royal reed and 8-12 grade students should be using a 3.0 Rico Royal reed. Blue Juice valve oil is preferred for brass instruments, and Yamaha Trombone Slide Lubricant is preferred for Trombones.
